Fun Times

This afternoon we took the kids trick or treating to all the stores downtown. They had a great time. Afterwards we went to two of their favorite places...Grandpa and Grandma's house and Grandpa and Grandma Wallace's house.

I'm glad I noticed!!

I have a little girl who wants to be just like mommy!! =) Tonight I was in the kitchen checking the fruit in our food dryer and I was thinking that tomorrow I'll work on another batch of dried apples and another batch of applesauce. I glanced over at my box of apples and thought, "Wow, I thought I had alot more than that left". I just looked at it and looked at it and wondered if I was losing it. =) I got the bright idea to go ask the kids about it. I went in the boys' room and asked if they happened to play with any apples today. Ryan said, "They are in Hallie's room in her kitchen". So, I went to check it out and this is what I found....




I'm still not quite sure how they managed to get this many out of the kitchen. But, I had gone to the store for a while and Tom is home sick and was taking a nap so in that little bit of time that I was gone...they had really good teamwork. =)

A Day at Punkinseed

Today was a special day at Hallie's Preschool. It's always a favorite day for the kids. The boys remember this day when they had their turn at preschool. =) They get to wear their costume to school and we come watch them the last 45 minutes of class as they go to each others 'houses' and trick or treat to their friends. They each sit on a mat at their 'house' and pass out their treat to their friends. It's always fun to see how everyone dresses up. Of course, I thought Hallie was the cutest!! =)Next in line I would say was some adorable twin girls that are in her class. One came as a football player and the other came as a cheerleader. They were too cute!!

Quite a day

We had a very busy but good day today. It started with the boys and I taking Hallie to Punkinseed (her preschool) at 8:30 AM. Then the boys and I came home and started on their schoolwork until we went back to pick her up at 10:30. Then it was back home to finish up their school work until lunchtime. We had lunch at home with Daddy and then it was off to swimming lessons for the boys at 1:15 to 1:45. The kids and I came back home so they could change and then it was off to Albany for me to get my allergy shot. After getting that taken care of we made our way home. I wanted to stop and see about getting some apples at a apple orchard on our way home. I saw the prices and I think it was 65 cents a pound for the picked apples or 35 cents a pound for U-Pick. I was tempted to just buy the picked ones and make my way home, but I've been wanting to take the kids apple picking all fall and just never found a good time for us to all go as a family...the 6 of us. So, I decided today was the day for me to take the kids. It was unplanned and I didn't have my camera but I took some 'after' pictures. The five of us picked 43 pounds of apples. The kids absolutely LOVED it!!

My parents had given us some apples earlier this fall and some friends of ours had given us some too and I made applesauce and then dried alot for snacks. My food dryer only had 4 trays on it and it takes a good 4 hours at least to dry the apples and I'd get the four trays done and the kids would eat 2 trays in one sitting so there wasn't much to store. So, I've been wanting to make more to freeze. I decided to buy more trays so I could get more done so now I have 12 trays on my food dryer and it's going to be so much nicer to get to dry so much at one time. So, I've got my first batch drying right now and I've got alot left to go but am looking forward to having a good snack ready for the kids.

This week they asked if I'd dry them some bananas so they could see if they liked them. So, I did. I had enough bananas to fill two trays and the kids ate them all in no time. They were a hit too. I'm glad to know they like them and will make some more when I'm done with all these apples.

Bowling Fun

We had a fun family night on Monday - for Bradley's birthday. He wanted to go bowling. My parents met us there and watched as the 6 of us bowled. A fun time was had by all. I noticed at one point that Ryan and Tyler were busy measuring to see who was taller. They were funny. I was able to get a picture. I was a little surprised how much taller Tyler is. He's always been a tad taller but seemed more noticeable that night. We just had them weighed last week when I was at the doctors office and they were exactly the same weight...ounces and all. It was funny. I don't think I've ever seen that happen before. Tyler's always weighed a little bit more.

Family Time

Monday we had our family party. Bradley was sweet to give each of his siblings a gift and told them thank you for being his brother/sister. =)

More weekend fun...

Saturday we had dinner and a birthday celebration at my parents house. I was gone all day and didn't have the camera with me when I arrived so unfortunatly I don't have any pictures to share. =( Mom had a fun game planned for the kids of hiding number 8's all around the house and the kids got to go find them. She made a yummy cake for Bradley too. It was delicious!

Sunday after church we had another party at home. I love having a houseful of friends over. It's always a great time!!

Bradley's Weekend

We had a fun filled weekend as we celebrated Bradley's Birthday. Friday we had lunch at Red Robin and then went and fed the ducks. Always a fun time!!
